Around the World

Coming to Western, I knew I wanted to study abroad. However, I had no idea where that would lead me! I ended up choosing a program called Semester at Sea and traveled around the world in three and a half months. I never would have thought that by the end of my sophomore year I could say I had traveled to eleven countries and literally sailed around the world.

Living a Dream

I never would have guessed how much I would miss Western when I was abroad or how much more I now enjoy my time here. Returning to Western after studying abroad made me more appreciative; college is something I'm fortunate enough to get to experience. From interacting with the locals of numerous countries, I learned I am living many people's dream by attending a university.

Inspiring Professor

Health Education Professor Billie Lindsey is one of the most personable and enjoyable professors I have ever taken a class from. Her lectures are relevant to my interests and career goals so I always leave class excited that I learned something worthwhile. Her office is comfortable and friendly, so I am never hesitant to stop by with questions. Professors like her make me excited for my future!

After Western

I'm interested in HIV/AIDS prevention, so I'm excited to find a job abroad that will allow me to assist in a healthcare setting. I'd love to return to India, Vietnam, and South Africa.
