Why Western?
I initially chose to come to Western for my undergraduate studies mainly because of its small size and the student – teacher ratio. Instead of simply being another number in class, I wanted a learning environment in which teachers were actually able to get to know their students.
A Good Challenge
One of my most positive experiences at Western was an extremely challenging group project in my Advertising and Promotional Management class, an integrated marketing campaign. We were given the task of creating a product and marketing it to the world; thinking of advertisements, product features, target markets, pricing, promotions, etc. The project gave me a better perspective of the stages that products have to go through to get to the market, survive in the market, and sustain profitability. And, with all those late-night meetings, my group members and I became the best of friends.
Stepping Outside the Comfort Zone
One of my favorite memories of Western was when I took theater/acting classes my first quarter here. Since I am a very shy person, that was a big step for me and I ended up having a lot of fun.
Life in Bellingham
Besides the very welcoming atmosphere and the small boutiques in Bellingham, my favorite thing in Bellingham is a sushi restaurant called Moshi Moshi. I love eating sushi and I think they have the best sushi in Bellingham by far. And believe me, I have tried many sushi restaurants!
Life after Western
After graduation from my master's program, I hope to volunteer in Cambodia for a couple months and organize a few after-school programs. Upon returning, I want to obtain a job within a medium to large size corporation in Seattle in a marketing or management-related position.
