- Western alumni and friends working at Microsoft have given WWU the latest software to update every student computer lab on campus with the most recent applications, including Office and Windows XP. The value for the current academic year is nearly $4 million.
- Scholar's Week recognizes undergraduate scholarship, research, and creative activities and includes student papers, presentations, invitations into honor societies, and guest speakers.
