College Major: Business Administration
I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. I attended a small liberal arts college, not unlike Western Washington University, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and an emphasis in Marketing Management. Growing up in an urban area, I never really knew all the college options in my backyard. As a first-generation college student, it was important for me to build relationships with my admission counselors throughout the process. I so appreciated the access and resources they provided to me and my family.
Now that I am an admissions counselor, I want to provide students with the same support I received. I am determined to help all students, particularly inner-city youth, find their path to higher education. I believe that learning is connecting. And, as a new resident to Seattle, I’m looking forward to being a part of a community that is focused on giving access to our most vulnerable populations.
Coming from the inner city, hands-on learning, financial support services, a small student-to-faculty ratio, and access to the city for internships were essential to my learning experience. Attending a local college was attractive to me, because it provided me with these opportunities, while keeping me close to home (but not too close).
I’m excited to help you find your communities and paths to success at Western. Most importantly, think of me as a resource in your backyard. If you have any questions about your college search process, please reach out. I’m here to help!
