About Me

I grew up just 30 minutes south of Bellingham in the beautiful Skagit Valley. As a first-generation college student, I had never considered going college, but my high school teachers and counselors provided me with the encouragement and support I needed to realize it was an option for me. Now, as an Admissions Counselor, I’m excited to help prospective students and their families navigate the college application process as they begin to take steps toward higher education and independence.

I went to a small liberal arts university on the other side of the Cascades, and after graduating quickly made my way back to the comforts of the mountains and the bay. I worked in the human services field for five years before deciding I wanted to take another path to helping people, and began searching for an inspiring community where I could feel like I belonged. It didn’t take long to find that at Western Washington University. Western offers undergraduates all of the supports that helped me succeed in college. The small student-to-faculty ratio allows students to connect with and build relationships with professors that lead to the discovery of new academic interests as well as open doors to career and internship opportunities you’ve never imagined before. The beautiful campus and fun and active community make it a dynamic place to live and build one’s own home away from home.

I’m happy to share more about this community I’m proud to be a part of, so please don’t hesitate to reach out!
