Guaranteed First-Year Admissions

Ready for some peace of mind?

You are guaranteed to be admitted to Western once you submit your application, as long as the following are true:

  • Your school has an agreement with Western Washington University to participate in our Guaranteed Admissions Program (GAP) or through Western Match.
  • Your school’s guidance office confirmed your Grade Point Average meets program requirements.
  • You are on track to complete the College Academic Distribution Requirements (CADRs).

If you meet the above criteria, congrats! It's time to complete your application by following the steps below.

If you don't meet the above criteria, please reach out to our friendly admissions staff to discuss your options.

Lock in your spot for fall 2025 by completing these 3 steps today:

1. Submit your application for undergraduate admission

Let us know you're interested and want to receive an offer of admission. Your admissions application allows us to consider you for merit-based and activity scholarships, too. You can apply to Western using the WWU Application or the Common App.

2. Send us an unofficial transcript

You can upload your transcript when you complete the admissions application, or ask your high school to send it to us at mailto:admissions.documents@wwu.edu.

3. Apply for financial aid

A FAFSA or WASFA are required to help you qualify for most federal and state financial aid. Every student should apply, even if you don’t think you will qualify for financial aid. Western’s FAFSA code is 003802.

The Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) is available for students who do not qualify for federal financial aid due to their immigration status. If you are unsure if you should complete a FAFSA or a WASFA, complete the WASFA eligibility questionnaire.

And that's it!

Once you complete the application for undergraduate admission and send us your unofficial transcript, you will receive a formal admission packet in the mail. You have until May 1, 2025 to decide whether or not to attend Western.

Congrats! Your hard work during high school has paid off, and we’re thrilled to guarantee your admission to Western Washington University.
