The Office of Admissions values our partnership with high school counselors. We are committed to providing you with the information you need to help your students learn about our application processes.

Guaranteed Admission

There are two pathways to guaranteed admission at Western Washington University for first-year students attending high school in Washington State. 

  1. The Western Guaranteed Admission program is available to students attending a high school in Island, San Juan, Snohomish, Skagit, and Whatcom counties.
  2. The Washington Guaranteed Admissions Program (WAGAP) is for students in participating high schools across Washington State.

Transfer to Western

Transfer credit is generally awarded for baccalaureate-oriented courses completed at regionally accredited higher education institutions. Coursework completed at nationally recognized institutions will be assessed after initial enrollment.
