Guaranteed Admission

There are two pathways to guaranteed admission at Western Washington University for first-year students attending high school in Washington State.

The Western Guaranteed Admission program is available to students attending a high school in Island, San Juan, Snohomish, Skagit, and Whatcom counties.
The Washington Guaranteed Admissions Program (WAGAP) is for students in participating high schools across Washington State.

Transfer to Western

Transfer credit is generally awarded for baccalaureate-oriented courses completed at regionally accredited higher education institutions. Coursework completed at nationally recognized institutions will be assessed after initial enrollment.

First-Year Deadlines

Western Washington University application deadlines for undergraduate students by quarter.

For Fall Quarter (most first-year students apply for fall)
Deadline Type	Date	Why It's Important
Early Action	November 1	You'll get an update on your application by December 31. Your application will receive priority scholarship review. You will also receive priority financial aid notification if admitted. You still have until May 1 to say YES to Western.
Regular Decision	January 31	You’ll receive a decision on your application beginning in March. Your application will receive priority scholarship review. This is also the priority filing date for the FAFSA and WASFA.
Late Application	After January 31	You will have access to fewer financial aid opportunities. Your application will be reviewed after all on-time applications are reviewed.

Winter: September 15
Spring: January 31
