Orientation and First-Year Programs

Orientation and first-year programs are designed to help you get off to a good start at Western.

Fall Freshman Orientation

Orientation programs provide opportunities to not only learn about academics, resources, and student life at Western, but to experience them firsthand. These programs are designed to help you transition to life at Western.

Optional First-Year Programs for Freshmen

Research shows that freshmen are more likely to succeed when they are socially and academically integrated within a campus community. That's why we've designed first-year programs that allow you to dive right into your interests in a supportive community of peers and faculty.

Transfer and Post-baccalaureate Orientation

Transfer and post-baccalaureate students are strongly encouraged to attend our full-day advising and orientation program designed specifically to meet their needs. Programs are offered for all quarters and address questions and concerns specific to transfer and post-baccalaureate students. Fall orientation sessions are available in July. You can make your orientation reservation beginning in early June.
