What is On the Spot Admissions Day?
On the Spot Admissions Day is your chance to:
- Meet with WWU Admissions staff at your high school.
- Receive personalized assistance with your application for Fall Quarter.
- Apply for FREE with an exclusive application fee waiver code.
- Get an instant admissions decision after submitting your application.

Bring Your Materials
If you pre-registered, your school counselor will have your transcript ready on the day of the event.
You’re also welcome to bring a personal statement or essay if you’d like to include one in your application—though it’s optional. If you choose to submit one, we recommend having it ready to copy and paste into your application during the workshop.
Thinking about submitting an essay? Here are a few prompts to help you get started:
Prompt Option 1
Describe one or more activities you have been involved in that have been particularly meaningful. What does your involvement say about the communities, identities or causes that are important to you?
Prompt Option 2
Share a meaningful experience and how this has helped shape you in your preparation for college. This could be related to your passions, commitments, leadership experience, family or cultural background.
Prompt Option 3
Topic of your choice. If you have written another essay that captures what you want the Admissions Committee to know about you, feel free to share it here.

What to Expect for the Day
- Check in: Western's admissions staff will help check you in.
- Apply for FREE for Admissions: You will complete an application, and WWU staff will be available to help and provide an application fee waiver.
- Review Your Application: Western's admissions staff will immediately review your application and will let you know you are #WWUBound!
After the Event
After On the Spot Admissions Day, you’ll receive an email notification when your official admissions letter is ready in your application status portal.
Once you receive the notification, you’ll gain access to valuable resources and next steps to help you transition to life at Western.
