Regardless of the season, sports are a source of renewed energy for the Western community. Our athletics generate excitement on campus, and the club sports and intramural programs spark new friendships.

Western Washington University competes in NCAA Division II sports, having won a combined 13 national championships and claimed 6 conference titles in the 2024-25 season.

Looking for a way to stay active, make friends, and compete in college sports? Western Washington University offers both competitive and recreational Sport Clubs.

These student-run clubs practice regularly, take part in tournaments, and compete at specialized levels.

Intramural sports are recreational, organized sports leagues, and tournaments where Western students compete against each other. They are designed to be fun, inclusive, and less competitive, allowing players of all skill levels to enjoy the game without the intense time commitment.

The Outdoor Center provides accessible, low-cost options for students to explore the outdoors.
