Why I chose Western
When I was touring colleges, I wasn't sure what exactly I was looking for in a school. So, when I toured Western, I wasn't really sure what I wanted to know or if Western would be the best fit for me. However, after I toured the campus and saw resources and efforts to build community, I knew that I wanted to go to Western, and I knew that no matter what I wanted to do during my academic career, I would be supported and find my group of people that I fit in with.
Why I chose my major
I've been interested in chemistry since taking it in high school, and taking the organic chemistry lab classes at Western has really cemented my interest. I love that I can see chemistry in everything that we do on a daily basis, and I really feel like it informs how I move through the world. I love that it's a puzzle and that when you choose to work out the puzzle you have some greater understanding of why the world works the way it does.
My advice for incoming or prospective students
Try anything and everything that sounds even a little bit interesting. There are so many opportunities to meet new people and try new things, there is a place for everyone.
