What I like most about Bellingham

I love all of the opportunities for exploring the outdoors in Bellingham. There are so many hiking trails that are just a short drive away, and it is an easy walk to the Arb or the boardwalk from campus for some outdoor time during the school day. The food is also great, especially after a long day of being outside!

An experience or class at Western that made me go "Wow!"

I took a class called “Why We Disagree About Climate Change”, where we had great discussions. The class was open to honors students of any major, so our different backgrounds and interests allowed us to bring up a wide variety of points. I loved learning about how the idea of climate change is woven into so many aspects of our lives and applying cultural theory to understand the many different perspectives that

My advice for incoming or prospective students

It is ok to not have your whole life planned out yet. I entered Western as an undeclared major and some of my favorite classes ended up being the ones that I took while exploring areas that I was interested in. Talking to professors, advisors, and classmates also helped me understand what I was passionate about and how I could choose a major that best suited my interests.
