Why I chose Western
I chose Western because I fell in love with the campus when I toured it. The cherry trees were blooming, the mountains were peeking out, and campus felt like it was enrobed by evergreens. I thought it was a beautiful setting to continue my education in.
An experience or class at Western that made me go "Wow!"
One "WOW" moment I've had here at Western was participating in our Associated Students Intersectional Lobby day and going down to Olympia with fellow students to meet state legislators and discuss issues that concern WWU students. WWU has such an exciting civic student engagement scene, and participating in it gets me excited to work with students in my future career in education.
My advice for incoming or prospective students
My advice for incoming and prospective students is to explore all the schools and opportunities that interest you. I only applied to a couple of universities, and while I'm grateful I ended up at western, I think touring different schools can be such a fun experience that is unique to a very short period of your life (although I may be a little biased as a tour guide).
