During my free time in Bellingham, I love to try new restaurants and cafes, as well as plan hikes, ski days, and other adventures with friends. During the quieter winter days some of my favorite things to do are watch new movies or spend the whole day working on huge jigsaw puzzles.

Why I chose my major
While I was growing up, my family spent a lot of time in Cholla Bay, Mexico. I loved going out into the bay while the tide was low to discover all of the seemingly alien-like organisms that had been left in the tide pools. My Grandparents bought a book about some of the species that could be found in the Sea of Cortez, and I was hooked. Ever since then I have loved everything to do with Marine science and research, and I knew it was what I wanted to study when it came time to choose my undergraduate major.
What I ultimately hope my education helps me achieve
I plan to graduate with my Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science as well as Marine and Coastal Science. Eventually I would like to attend graduate school to open up a few more opportunities into the research field. I hope to work towards educating and engaging individuals and businesses about what they can do to live more sustainably. I am also interested in conducting research on various marine organisms and using what I learn to advocate for marine ecosystem conservation.
