When I'm not busy with school and doing things for industrial design, I love to spend my time outdoors. I love skiing at Baker and hiking all around Bellingham and exploring all that it has to offer.
My favorite thing about Bellingham is how it's right by the ocean and the mountains. That was one of the biggest perks for me when choosing Western as my home for the next four years. There's always something to do!
Talk to an advisor! Not enough students take advantage of student advising. While you may not know exactly what you want major in when you come to college,or you might have an idea. My best advice is to check out the curriculum requirements for that major as soon as possible and see which ones count as general university requirements (GURs) to start checking those off of your list!
I chose industrial design because I knew I needed to go into something that allowed me to utilize my creativity. I've always been interested in how things were made and how things worked, so from that standpoint, engineering just made sense. Industrial design allows for so many opportunities and there's always something new to learn. It gets pretty rigorous and stressful at times, but that's what I love about it! There's always a new challenge.
The thing I like most about Western is the community that it has established. There's always a fun event going on somewhere whether it's a poetry slam in the Underground Coffeehouse or a free movie night in Artzen Hall. There are so many events that take place on campus that bring people together in unique ways!
