Western Preview

An Event Designed for Admitted Students and Their Families

Western Preview is our largest event of the year for admitted students and their families. Spend a Saturday with us and sit in on academic information sessions led by department staff and faculty, explore Western's campus and residence halls, meet with current Western students, have lunch on campus, attend a Student Services and Club Fair, and more!

The cost to attend Western Preview is $15 per person. Please note that the fee for Western Preview is non refundable should your plans change.

For students who were eligible for an application fee waiver—or whose FAFSA indicates an EFC (Expected Family Contribution) of $6,000 or less—may be eligible for a fee waiver to attend the program. For more information, please contact the Admissions Office at

*Based on academic sessions selected during registration, students will receive a personal agenda via email and at check-in.

Academic Sessions & Lunch

Between 11:00 a.m. - 1:45 p.m. you will have the chance to attend two academic sessions, take a break for lunch in one of our Residential Dining Halls and tour the Residence Halls. When you register you will choose two academic session options, one option for lunch and one option for Residence Hall tours.

Please note that once you have registered for your Western Preview sessions, they cannot be changed. You will receive a list of available sessions you are able to attend the day of the program should you wish to attend a different academic session.

Other Afternoon Campus Options

From 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. you are invited to explore campus on your own by attending any of our afternoon options!

Attend the Campus Clubs & Student Services Fair, which will include representatives from many student clubs and organizations and student services, join the students and faculty of the Engineering and Design department for tours of lab spaces, take a tour of our Wade King Recreational Center, visit our residence halls, and more!
