About this program

The Multicultural Achievement Program (MAP) Distinguished Scholars is a highly selective program comprised of students who have distinguished themselves through outstanding leadership within their community and have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to access, diversity, equity and inclusion.  Approximately 35-45 students are selected each year for the Multicultural Achievement Program Distinguished Scholars Program.

Criteria

  • First-Year or Transfer Student
  • MAP Scholarship recipient

You can apply for the MAP Scholarship by submitting an additional essay describing your involvement in any activities related to diversity, multiculturalism, or support of any historically underrepresented community in your application for admission to WWU.

Apply by March 25

This program is exclusively for admitted Western students; you will need to log in to your Admitted Student Portal to register.

  • May apply for a paid Peer Mentor position in the Office of Admissions during second year at WWU
