Interests

I love engaging with art in pretty much any capacity. Whether that's performing, drawing in a sketchbook, or enjoying live music. I also really love reading and getting outdoors when it's nice out. I also am a big board game nerd and love a good Dungeons and Dragons game.

Why I chose Western

I decided to come to Western for two main reasons. One is the location. I love being so close to the bay, the mountains, an awesome downtown, and Canada! It's also not too far from my hometown, but I still felt like I was "moving away" for college. The second reason is the community and student involvement on campus. I love how much input there is from students, and how much everyone seems to care about bettering both the school and social environments for every student! I wanted an engaged community, and Western definitely fits that.

An experience or class at Western that made me go "Wow!"

My first quarter at Western I was in an introductory Political Science course. It was hard and really pushed me, but I learned so much from it. What really stuck with me from that class was the discussions we'd have in small groups each week. Specifically, the few times we would do mock trials or hearings about a recent case going through the supreme court, relating to our topic that week. It was such a great creative way to help us understand the material, and it was fun along the way! That class really made me feel like a "college student" in the best possible way and helped me understand just how much I could learn with dedicated professors and some hard work.
