I love to swim and spend time on the water or by the coast! I spend a lot of my free time reading books and watching Netflix's latest romantic reality TV series. I am also a huge fan of trying new restaurants (and revisiting old favorites). Spending time with friends and family is another one of my favorite ways to relax.

Why I chose my major
I choose to study psychology because even as a young child I always wondered the question, “Why do people think and act the way they do?” I hope to learn more about the motivations and meanings behind people's behaviors and ways of expressing themselves. There are also a ton of really cool subcategories of psychology such as lifespan development and socioemotional development in which I am particularly interested!
My advice for incoming or prospective students
College is a chance to really experiment with the activities you participate in. Try to come with a willingness to try new activities and put yourself out into the community in ways that might be a little intimidating at first. Even if the activity you try first isn’t for you, keep trying. It might take many different tries before you find the right fit! It took me trying different clubs and activities all of freshman year until I found a place I clicked with my sophomore year!
