Downtown Bellingham is where you'll usually fine me sitting on the floor of a bookstore surrounded by the stacks or grabbing food with my friends. I love to be outside hiking, paddle boarding, and hammocking. I enjoy traveling, and a life goal of mine is to experience all 50 states.

Why I chose Western
I chose Western for many reasons. Western is situated in beautiful Bellingham, which offers me much more live music, restaurants, recreational opportunities, and welcoming spaces than my hometown. Western is the perfect sized school for me- it’s not so big that I feel like a number, but it’s not so small that everyone on campus knows me. Tuition was an important part of my decision process, as an out-of-state student. Western offered me the WUE scholarship, which allows me to afford tuition.
My advice for incoming or prospective students
Entering a new collegiate space can be scary! As you consider or make this transition to Western, reflect on what you want to experience and gain from your time in college. Write down your questions, goals, and fears. Then, embrace this unique time in your life and all that Western has to offer. Search for healthy communities, try new and scary things, and get outside!
