Do you need to reapply?
Western students planning to return after an absence of one or more quarters (excluding summer) must submit a Returning Student Application for Admission [pdf] before they will be eligible to register for classes. In general, students who left Western in good academic standing, are pursuing their first degree, and complete their application prior to the application deadline will be granted readmission. Students who have been academically dismissed may not use this application and must instead petition for scholastic reinstatement.
The Returning Student Application for Admission can be used by former Western Washington University students returning to pursue a first bachelor’s degree as well as former post-baccalaureate Western students returning to pursue further post-baccalaureate study. Students who have been academically dismissed and former Extended Education program students should review information about special circumstances.
Readmission to the University does not imply you are qualified for your intended major. You should contact the academic department of your intended major as soon as possible to discuss major declaration procedures; this is especially important for programs with separate application processes.
